Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Garment Technologist to join a really lovely and very successful supplier based in Hertfordshire. My client is a supplier to several leading retailers and supermarkets in the UK and specialise in Knitwear and heavy jersey .
The successful candidate will have relevant knitwear and jersey technical experience. Relevant supplier or retail experience is needed as you will be required to confidently deal with customers as well as liaising with technical colleagues and designers. You will be involved in overseeing the product all the way through the process, joining meetings, and overseeing fits. This is an interesting role working in a really supportive team with lovely product.
The office is located in beautiful grounds in the Hertfordshire and so candidates would need to drive. Option to do 3/4/5 days with 1 day from home
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Responsible for the approval of garments and advising on all aspects of fit, grading, construction, and quality-related issues.
- Collaboration with customers and colleagues.
- Attending fit meetings with customers and working with overseas factories to communicate next steps, issues and priorities.
- Creating size specifications and technical packs for factories.
- Working closely within the internal design, sampling, and sales, teams, and developing strong working relationships with customers' own technical teams.
- Liaise regularly with customers regarding fit comments, specs/requirements
- Communicate all the information to offshore factories.
- Critical path management packaging and approvals process
Person Specification
- Previous experience in Knitwear and/ or heavy Jersey is essential
- Experienced Garment technologist with retail or supplier background
- Must drive and have access to own car
- Confident dealing with customers and solving problems
- Experience of working with or for High Street Multiples/Supermarkets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience of working with factories overseas.
- Ability to work under pressure and to key deadlines on the Critical Path
- Confident, commercial and collaborative
- A great team player who enjoys working with others
