Job description



This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable global company that licenses world-renowned brands, based at their Watford office 5 days a week. This role sits within the finance team, supporting the credit control function, where you will take responsibility for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and contributing to the company's financial health, making it an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their skills within a dynamic, commercially driven environment.
To be eligible for this role, you must be currently studying towards AAT, hold a degree in Finance, or be studying towards CICM.

Main Responsibilities will include:


  • Maintaining accurate records of customer accounts, including outstanding invoices and payment terms

  • Reviewing customer credit limits and payment history

  • Assisting in setting up new customer accounts and updating existing ones

  • Processing invoices and ensuring they are sent out accurately and on time

  • Following up on outstanding invoices and prompting customers for payment

  • Reconciling payments received with invoices outstanding

  • Identifying and investigating any discrepancies in payments

  • Contacting customers to discuss outstanding balances and payment arrangements

  • Assisting in the collection of overdue accounts

  • Escalating unresolved issues to senior credit control staff where required

  • Preparing reports on outstanding debts, aging of receivables, and other relevant metrics

  • Analysing data to identify trends and areas for improvement

  • Staying up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations related to credit control

  • Carrying out ad-hoc tasks as required by the credit control team


Person Specification:


  • Currently studying towards AAT, a degree in Finance, or CICM

  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience within a finance role in a reputable company

  • Strong numerical skills and a high level of attention to detail

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including confidence in contacting customers directly

  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve payment discrepancies

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously

  • Customer service skills, with the persistence and determination to follow up on outstanding matters

  • A collaborative team player with a proactive approach and strong work ethic

  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to develop within a growing finance team

  • Experience within the fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands sector is desirable but not essential
