Pancake day, or Shrove Tuesday to be more technical is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. The tradition began as the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast and pancakes are the perfect way of using up these ingredients.
Start stocking up the cupboards with endless toppings, plenty of flour, eggs and milk as Pancake Day approaching us! Pancake Day is also an excuse to show off your talents and cook up a storm in the kitchen cooking and flipping pancakes… although there are sure to be a few stuck on the ceiling!
This year, why not try mixing things up and make some alternative pancakes? They’re just as delicious, if anything a little healthier, and for all those with dietary restrictions - the perfect alternative!
Here are some ideas for everyone to try this Pancake Day – you can even eat them all year round!
