Job Description
We have a fabulous opportunity for a commercial Junior Womenswear Designer to join an established, successful, and trend-driven supplier to the UK high street. They are seeking an enthusiastic, driven individual with a young to mid-market handwriting style who is used to working in a fast-paced environment and can work under pressure.
This role will be working with a lovely team of established designers and offers great career progression.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
Research fashion trends, producing trend boards, catwalks, and sketches.
Design seasonal capsule collections along with key shapes, colour palettes, and fabric direction.
Source & order fabric from mills in China and follow up to ensure they arrive in a timely manner.
Research and source new design ideas & fabrics/trims day to day.
Design and develop commercial and fashion-forward products for range and clients.
Attend regular design meetings with the Sales Manager and customers when required.
Manage Sampling and Development of Critical Path.
Weekly reports looking at the latest trends.
Personal Requirements:
1-2 years' experience in similar role.
Strong organisational skills and able to work under pressure.
Commercially savvy with excellent on-trend knowledge.
Fully computer literate in Photoshop and Illustrator
A keen eye for detail.
Must be a team player with a willingness to take direction and eager to learn.
