We have a fabulous opportunity for a commercial Junior Womenswear Designer to join an established, successful, and trend-driven supplier to the UK high street. They are seeking an enthusiastic, driven individual with a young to mid-market handwriting style who is used to working in a fast-paced environment and can work under pressure.
This role will be working with a lovely team of established designers and offers great career progression.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Research fashion trends, producing trend boards, catwalks, and sketches.
- Design seasonal capsule collections along with key shapes, colour palettes, and fabric direction.
- Source & order fabric from mills in China and follow up to ensure they arrive in a timely manner.
- Research and source new design ideas & fabrics/trims day to day.
- Design and develop commercial and fashion-forward products for range and clients.
- Attend regular design meetings with the Sales Manager and customers when required.
- Manage Sampling and Development of Critical Path.
- Weekly reports looking at the latest trends.
Personal Requirements:
- 1-2 years' experience in similar role.
- Strong organisational skills and able to work under pressure.
- Commercially savvy with excellent on-trend knowledge.
- Fully computer literate in Photoshop and Illustrator
- A keen eye for detail.
- Must be a team player with a willingness to take direction and eager to learn.
