Job description
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a leading UK high street supplier as a Ladies Designer, working within a fun, fast-paced and supportive team. The role offers strong training and clear progression, with the chance to take ownership of trend and range development across ladies athleisure and performancewear.
Based in a central London design studio with hybrid working, you will lead on creating commercially relevant, trend-led ranges for key customers, while building strong relationships with buying teams and internal partners overseas.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Planning and developing ladies athleisure and performancewear ranges for customers and internal collections
- Designing CADs for buyer presentations and range sign-off
- Creating accurate tech packs to ensure samples are produced correctly
- Managing sample trackers and maintaining organised critical path updates
- Keeping fabric and trim libraries up to date and proactively sourcing newness
- Producing regular shop reports covering competitor activity and inspiration
- Building and updating seasonal trend packs including key shapes, fabrics, colour, graphics and mood
- Communicating daily with internal merchandising teams overseas to support development and timelines
- Building strong relationships with buying teams through clear communication and presentation
- Maintaining systems and files (e.g., OneDrive) and supporting general studio organisation
- Supporting wider studio admin, including post, keeping rails organised and maintaining tidy folders
Person specification:
- Previous experience designing ladies athleisure and performancewear is required
- Excellent CAD skills, with strong Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Strong commercial design eye with the ability to interpret trends for long lead time supplier ranges
- Confident communication and presentation skills, able to build buyer relationships
- Highly organised, able to work at pace and manage multiple projects
- A collaborative team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
- CLO 3D and Excel skills are beneficial but not essential
