Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for one of my clients who are one of the leading suppliers to most major UK retailers for an account manager who is extremely product-focused to work with their existing team working across multiproduct ladies Jersey servicing several accounts. This role would ideally suit someone who has a design /product development background in addition to a proven track record in account management with a supplier. This role will involve you working closely with retail buying teams and in-house design teams to identify newness and gaps in the product offering, looking to develop new fabrics, and able to enhance and expand the product offering. A strong understanding of Jersey fabrication is required for this role.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- To maintain and nurture relationships with clients
- Identifying gaps within the range and develop and work alongside designers to ensure maximum opportunity being offered to all customers
- Research and identify new suitable fabrics
- Work closely with fabric, garment techs, merchandising, and design teams to ensure on-time delivery of product development projects
- Provide guidance and assistance to design teams to ensure product development aligns with internal and customer strategy
- In conjunction with the design team, present new product to customers
- Negotiate prices in line with customer requirements and targets and agree on cost prices with customers
Experience / Skills:
- Relevant product knowledge within ladies Jersey
- Experienced working for a supplier and managing high volume accounts
- Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- A dynamic, hands-on go-getter who can think on their feet
- Able to work under pressure within a fast-paced environment
- A design background highly desirable
- Experience in product development, sourcing, trends, and production
- Knowledge of the production cycle in factories in China, Bangladesh & India is desirabl
