Job description

Due to continued growth and success my client is looking for an experienced Account Manager across womenswear and / or Kidswear to join the team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with high turnover accounts and building relationships with Buyers and growing business incrementally. You will be confident managing day-to-day customer relationships, driving product development and supporting commercial growth across retail customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong retail buying or supplier background to take ownership of key accounts and grow with the business.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Day-to-day management of customer accounts, acting as the key point of contact and maintaining strong, professional relationships
  • Regular customer meetings to manage expectations, identify opportunities and drive account growth
  • Working closely with the design team to brief, develop and deliver product in line with customer requirements
  • Managing the critical path from sampling through to order placement and delivery
  • Supporting negotiations on cost prices, margins and delivery timelines in line with business targets
  • Ensuring orders are accurate, commercially viable and delivered on time
  • Liaising with internal teams to provide updates, resolve issues and ensure smooth account management
  • Preparing reports, forecasts and updates for the Senior Account Manager and wider management team

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in a similar Account Management role or as Buyer
  • Strong understanding of the UK retail landscape; experience with Matalan, George, Sainsbury's, or Tesco is required.
  • Commercially minded with a good understanding of margins, costings, and customer expectations
  • Experience working with Bangladesh and / or India
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple accounts and deadlines effectively
  • Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
