Wholesale & Administration

A Wholesale based role within the fashion/retail industry is to deliver an order to another company or brand. A wholesale role will center around the process (or critical path) from the moment the sale is made to a customer. This can range from a Wholesale Merchandiser, Production Assistant/Coordinator or more senior operational positions. The premiss is the same, once the order is taken this individual must work to fulfill it. This means placing an order with the factory, and the Wholesale Merchandiser/Production Coordinator will manage and track the order through to final delivery. A Wholesale or Import Merchandiser's role includes customer account management, liaising with overseas suppliers, factories. They will be responsible for approving lab dips and negotiating lead times. To get a job in fashion as a Wholesale Merchandiser you will need to be an experienced Administrator.


Top 3 Key Skills needed to work in Wholesale:

Highly organised, proactive and able to work to deadlines

Must have excellent numerical and IT skills (Excel is a must!)

Excellent communicator both written and verbal.
