Job Description

My client is a successful online brand with stores in major shopping centers throughout the UK, as well as a good international presence. The company specialises in fast fashion encompassing lingerie, swimwear and accessories with a strong focus on quality, excellent service and product expertise.

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for the brand's marketing and communication strategies, as well as overall branding and image to ensure the development and implementation of the marketing plan, whilst maintaining a strong control over the day to day running to ensure the delivery of the business ambitious growth plan and a seamless customer experience.

My client is looking for a dynamic, creative thinker who can demonstrate a proven track record of success working within a similar role for a fast-paced fashion online business. In this role as Marketing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing an established team across Creative, PR, Visual Merchandising, Social Media and Content Marketing and as such will need experience of managing and driving a similar team.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining relations with customers by organising and developing specific customer relation programmes
  • Providing short and long term market forecasts and reports through market research, analysis, interpretation of market data and competitor research
  • Influencing present and future products by determining and evaluation current and future market trends
  • Maintaining research database by identifying and assembling market information in line with GDPR regulations
  • Driving the social media marketing strategy and content marketing
  • Achieving financial objectives by preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions
  • Driving visitor/footfall growth to support the business to deliver an aggressive growth plan
  • Driving strong customer loyalty/retention whilst devising strategies to recruit new customers
  • Leading, managing, motivating and developing the marketing team to ensure achievement of objectives
  • Develop procedures to measure the effectiveness of marketing programmes
  • Work closely with other key stakeholders across the company to achieve strategic objectives
  • Manage 3rd party and agency relationships
  • Work closely with colleagues to understand, develop and support store initiatives and promotions
  • Reviewing market leaders, competitor strategies and methodologies to identify attributes of successful (profitable) campaigns, content types and delivery tactics
  • Attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies

Personal requirements:

  • Commercially astute with a solid understanding of multichannel retailing in a fast-paced trading led environment
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or related field
  • Excellent track record of achieving results through all channels, i.e. campaigns, promotions
  • Able to demonstrate achievements/results based on detailed knowledge and use of customer insight, branding and the marketplace
  • Excellent cross-functional team worker with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Persuasive, creative and innovative thinker who can influence at all levels and has the confidence to challenge
  • High competency in project and stakeholder management
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a top performing team who will effectively implement and deliver the marketing strategy and plan
