Job Description
A new role has become available for an experienced men’s jersey designer who has some previous experience overseeing and managing a small team, for my client who is one of the largest menswear suppliers to high street retailers. They are now looking to grow their jersey wear team and are looking for a senior designer to manage a small team.
My client is looking for someone who is commercial , proactive, well organized, and also aware of latest trends and looks, who can convert them into a commercial and viable offering to their customers. Previous experience working in a similar role for a supplier or retailer essential for this role
Main responsibilities will include:
- Strong interpretation of trends into commercial designs
- Overseeing, guiding, and mentoring a small team of 3 designers
- Gathering and using relevant internal and external information to drive product and range development for the customer
- Developing seasonal in-house collection which will fit into their customer base
- Following product development through with our PD team
- Constantly developing newness and emerging trends
- Ability to work independently and manage product development overseas
- Ability to present product to clients and conduct customer meetings independently
Person specifications:
- Experience designing men’s jersey multiproduct
- Previous responsibility for overseeing a small team
- Graphic design experience preferred not essential
- An understanding and passion for emerging trends
- Appetite for design influences and strong eye
- Ability to work proactively and be organised
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently at all levels
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
