Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Jersey Designer across Womenswear to join a highly successful and rapidly growing fashion supplier. This role offers excellent flexibility and the chance to play a key part in shaping innovative, commercially strong jersey collections for leading global customers. Working closely with the Design Director and factory teams, you will drive the creative vision, lead range development, and support business growth through trend-led, customer-focused design.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Drive the design and development of commercially successful womenswear jersey collections, working closely with the Design Director to deliver ranges that align with customer and brand identities.

  • Conduct in-depth research into market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to identify new product opportunities and maintain a strong awareness of emerging fashion directions.

  • Produce high-quality CADs, colour palettes, and design concepts within critical path timelines, ensuring balanced, cohesive collections that meet varied customer demographics.

  • Source and develop fabrics, trims, embellishments, and wash techniques that meet cost, quality, and speed-to-market requirements.

  • Partner closely with product development and factory teams to ensure samples are delivered right first time, on schedule, and to required customer standards.

  • Represent the business confidently in customer meetings and presentations, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.

  • Support business growth by identifying opportunities across product categories, monitoring account performance, analysing market risks, and contributing to strategic direction alongside senior leadership.

Person Specification:

  • Extensive experience designing jersey within womenswear, ideally within a supplier or fast-paced fashion environment.

  • Experience working with Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Matalan is advantageous.

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret customer briefs and translate trends into commercially viable products.

  • Excellent technical knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, sourcing, and factory capabilities.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and drive product development.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience mentoring and managing design teams.

  • Highly trend-driven, creative, and proactive.
