Job Description
We have a great opportunity for Men's Smart Casualwear designer to join a successful fashion design team based in London. My client is looking for designers with commercial fashion handwriting, focused on wovens. The successful candidates will be part of a talented and growing team and will need to be confident to participate in customer meetings.
The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years design experience with a strong woven background within smart casual menswear from either a retailer or supplier.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- You will identify and translate the must-have trends for smart casual men's fashion.
- Attend presentations as and when required.
- Understand garment construction and production constraints.
- Sourcing new fabrics and developing newness.
- Produce detailed tech packs and liaise with overseas factories.
- Develop new trims and fabrics.
- Identify and update bestsellers to drive repeat business.
- Manage Sampling and Development of Critical Path.
Person Specification:
- Must have at least 2 years of designing commercial menswear.
- A strong background and understanding on woven fabrication
- Experience working with overseas factories.
- Confident presenting to a team and clearly demonstrate where your inspiration is coming from
- Excellent CAD skills ideally with Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Able to work on your own - take initiative and work as part of a team.
