Job Description
We are currently working with one of the leading suppliers of young fashion across menswear to several hi fashion e-tailers and retailers to the high street across the UK .They are now looking to grow their team across Young Fashion menswear ranges in Jerseywear.
Designing Hoodies, Tees, Joggers, they are looking for a Designer who has their finger on the pulse, who is aware of street/urban trends and looks, someone who can interpret these looks into a commercial and viable offering to their customers. Previous experience working in a similar role for a supplier or retailer essential for this role
Main responsibilities will include:
- Strong interpretation of trends into commercial designs
- Gathering and using relevant internal and external information to drive product and range development for the customer
- Developing seasonal in-house collection which will fit into our customer base
- Following product development through with our PD team
- Constantly developing newness and emerging trends
- Ability to work independently and manage product development overseas
- Ability to present product to clients and conduct customer meetings independently
- Conduct research, shop reports, collate Internet prediction information to keep up to date with any new trends and innovations throughout UK and Europe
Person specifications:
- 2-3 years of MENS jersey experience
- Experience designing for young fashion market
- Graphic design experience preferred not essential
- An understanding and passion for emerging trends
- Knowledge of CAD would be beneficial
- Appetite for design influences and strong eye
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently at all levels
- Good teamwork and inter-personal skills
- Creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
