Job Description
This is a great opportunity for a Knitwear Designer looking to further their career with our client who is an extremely successful, established supplier to some of the biggest retailers in the UK, Europe and the USA. A good knowledge of working with Bangladesh and China is required for this role along with a strong ladies knitwear commercial portfolio.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
Strong interpretation of trends into commercial designs
Gathering & using relevant internal and external information to drive product and range development for the customer
Developing seasonal in-house collections for customer base
Following product development through with PD teams
Constantly developing newness and emerging trends
Responsible for hand drawing specs produced by hand
Ability to work independently and manage product development overseas.
Ability to present product to clients and conduct customer meetings independently.
Person specification:
Previous ladies knitwear design experience with a supplier
Strong CAD and illustrator skills
Experience working with Bangladesh suppliers.
Appetite for design influences and strong eye
Ability to work under own initiative.
Strong presentation skills and ability to build relationships with buyers
Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently at all levels
Ability to work under pressure and with strong personalities
Good teamwork and inter-personal skills
Yarn and construction knowledge
