Job description

Our client is looking for a Wovens & Denim Designer to join their growing creative team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware designer who has already gained experience working with their own clients or accounts and is ready to take the next step in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
Working across large retail accounts, in the UK and Europe, the role will suit a hands-on designer with strong soft woven and denim knowledge, confidence communicating with clients and suppliers, and an understanding of denim fabrics and dyeing processes.
You will work closely with account managers, suppliers, and buyers, supporting the development of trend-led, commercial collections across woven tops, woven bottoms, and casual bottoms.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of seasonal mood boards, trend research, and design direction
  • Design and develop commercial woven and denim styles, focusing on casual bottoms and woven separates
  • Assist in building seasonal capsule collections aligned to customer briefs and price points
  • Research and source fabrics, trims, washes, dye techniques, and finishes to support product development
  • Apply knowledge of denim fabrics and dyeing processes throughout the design and sampling stages
  • Liaise directly with clients and buyers, including attending meetings, following up actions, and managing email communication
  • Work with suppliers and production teams to help develop fabrics, samples, and technical details
  • Prepare and update CADs and technical packs to support sampling and production
  • Attend internal design and account meetings, supporting smooth range development

Person Specification

  • Experience in a Junior Wovens / Denim Designer role, ideally within a supplier focused environment
  • Background in wovens, with exposure to denim, casual bottoms, and woven separates
  • Must have experience working with their own clients or accounts, including direct liaison, email communication, and meeting attendance
  • Working knowledge of denim fabrics, washes, and dyeing techniques
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced, commercial setting
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with a basic to good understanding of technical packs
  • Well organised with strong attention to detail
  • Commercially aware, with a good eye for trends and customer requirements
  • Confident communicator who works well within a team and takes a proactive approach to problem-solving
