Job Description


An opportunity has arisen to join my client a leading Luxury fashion Designer Brand in their Paris Head office Working closely with the Directors in Paris and HR team in London.
This position will provide people focused generalist HR support to the Studio in Paris and retail stores in France. Managing recruitment, learning and development, payroll and compliance for all areas of the French business whilst being the main point of contact for all people and office related matters.


A Fashion/ Retail background in a stand alone is essential for this role

Key Responsibilities will include



  • Work with key stakeholders to establish effective communication channels for the French organisation
  • Develop and implement an effective Development and performance review process
  • Work with HR Director to develop Learning and Development plans for all employees
  • Maintain an awareness of HR best practice and knowledge of competitor
  • Draft job descriptions and ensure solid understanding of all positions
  • Identify suitable recruitment agencies and websites to use
  • Brief agencies and remain their point of contact throughout the recruitment process
  • Prepare and issue all contracts & inductions for all new starters
  • Obtain references and conduct right to work checks
  • Conduct probation reviews with Line Managers
  • Manage the disciplinary process for all employees and ensure all managers are aware of the correct procedures to follow
  • Manage terminations and resignations in accordance with French employment legislation
  • First contact for any questions from the employee
  • Assist Senior Managers with any employee relations matters within their teams
  • Maintain training registers, organise relevant training and manage the training budget
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all HR best practice and employment legislation
  • Work with Finance to prepare the annual budget on the social aspect Payroll
  • Provide the legal, administrative and social processing of all payroll information
  • Collate and submit all payroll data to payroll provider (currently ADP)
  • Verify the accuracy of the reports prepared by ADP
  • Establish Assedic attestations, employment contracts or dismissal procedures
  • Manage all absences; Holiday, sickness, maternity and paternity leave etc
  • Manage the annual salary review process Compliance, administration
  • Ensure Joseph is fully compliant with all aspects of employment legislation
  • Verify the residence permit of the new employee including the right to work in the territory
  • Responsible for the Unique Declaration of Hire (DUE)
  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee records

Person Specification

  • Solid understanding of French employment law
  • Must have worked in a stand alone role
  • Fashion/retail experience
  • Solution focused and able to work both strategically and operationally
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and providing support to their colleagues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
