Job description
We are working with an incredibly successful and highly reputable fashion supplier, who are seeking a passionate Head of Production to join their dynamic team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a senior role responsible for all aspects of the company's garment and production management, covering team management, factory management and quality control.
In this fast- paced and rewarding role, you will be at the forefront of bringing exciting new collections to life, collaborating with talented designers, leading brands, skilled manufacturers, and customers.
The position requires strong technical knowledge, strategic oversight, and hands-on problem solving and will suit someone with previous experience in a similar role within a supplier environment.
Based in the London studio 5 days a week.
Main responsibilities will include:
Lead, mentor, and develop the production function, including Merchandising and Garment Technology teams
Own and manage the full production critical path, ensuring timelines are met and proactively resolving any delays
Act as first point of contact for production issues, liaising with factories, suppliers, and customers to achieve swift resolution
Conduct regular production meetings, reporting on progress, approvals, and key metrics to senior leadership
Oversee factory management: daily liaison, onboarding of new suppliers, compliance with auditing requirements, and adherence to evolving legislation
Coordinate and manage quality control activities, including scheduling and oversight of on-site QC teams
Build strong relationships with internal design, sales, and merchandising teams, aligning production with business priorities
Ensure full compliance with customer requirements across all stages of production, including fabric, trims, and chemical testing standards
Represent the business during factory visits and audits, occasionally travelling internationally to key suppliers
Person Specification:
Degree in Fashion, Textiles, or related technical discipline
Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior production or supplier-side role within apparel, with a strong track record of managing Far East manufacturing.
Previous factory visits to China essential, and a good solid understanding of China factories and procedures
Factory Auditing - must have had previous experience in handling and processing factory audits / reporting back to factories on any CAPs and ensuing all customer requirements are met
Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, motivate staff, and build collaborative working environments.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit processes, and production methodologies; pattern cutting experience advantageous.
Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with PLM or similar production management systems.
