Job Description
Our Client is an award winning, established and successful supplier of fashion-led, innovative licensed and non-licensed loungewear, Underwear and Jerseywear to the High Street.
They are looking for a Finance Director who has previous experience working for a fashion company whether importing or manufacturing but MUST have relevant experience in Fashion.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Production of Annual Accounts and liaison with auditors
- Production of monthly Management Accounts and information pack
- Monitoring, management and investigation of sales margins in cases where orders may have dropped below target
- Accounting support to the Logistics Department and Import Manager including reconciliation of deferment account
- Input of data to collate the annual budget and monitor on monthly basis expenditure vs budget and investigation of variance
- Management of foreign exchange and hedging arrangements
- Daily cash and treasury management
- Oversee sales ledger account and credit control
- Oversee Purchase ledger account and credit control
- Oversee purchase ledger input and checking of large purchase invoices
- Prepare monthly payroll, PAYE and P11d's using Intex software package
- Royalty reporting for licensed sales
- Prepare and send VAT + intrastate returns
- Monitor pre payments to suppliers
- Monitor orders that are to be returned to suppliers and that appropriate repayments are received from the suppliers
- Manage a team of x5. Manage the teams expectations, mentor and motivate them, as well as carry out performance reviews on a yearly and mid-yearly level
- Work closely with HR, ensuring a good relationship is maintained at all times
Person specification:
- To have worked with the garment, fashion, importing, or manufacturing industry (desirable)
- Importing and sales to larger customers an advantage
- Highly numerate, with strong management accounts skills, especially standard costing processes
- Strong systems focus, ability to design and implement financial controls and reporting processes
- Excel modelling skills
- Computer literate
- Good communicator
- Excellent management skills
- Team player, willing to become involved in the nitty gritty, but still see the bigger picture.
