Job description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Garment Technologist to join a fast-paced and creative fashion business, supporting a varied portfolio of branded accounts. This is a hands-on role working across the full product lifecycle, from development through to production, ensuring all garments meet brand, customer, and quality standards.
This is a temporary contract role (3-6 months), based in the London studio, 5 days per week.
If you are a confident technologist with a proven track record in managing the technical development of garments, driving fit and quality standards, and collaborating with both internal teams and global suppliers, we would love to hear from you.
Mainresponsibilities will include:
Lead the fitting and approval process across development, sealing, and pre-shipment samples, ensuring garments meet specifications and critical path deadlines
Conduct detailed garment measurements, reviewing construction, fit, and finishing to maintain high-quality standards
Manage and maintain size specifications, workbooks, and graded specs in line with fit comments and approvals
Attend and lead customer fit meetings, providing clear technical feedback and recommendations
Oversee product testing requirements, reviewing reports and liaising with factories to resolve any issues swiftly
Monitor and track sample flow to ensure production remains on schedule, escalating risks where necessary
Manage and update the production critical path in collaboration with merchandisers and buyers
Work closely with internal and overseas QC teams, reviewing inspection reports, resolving issues, and approving goods for shipment
Act as a key point of contact between design, production, and supply chain teams, ensuring a smooth and efficient product development process
Person Specification:
Degree in fashion, textiles, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
Previous experience in garment technology within a fashion, supplier, or retail environment
Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fabric performance, and fit across multiple product categories
Confident in leading fit sessions and communicating effectively with designers, buyers, and suppliers
Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential); PLM systems experience desirable
A proactive problem-solver with strong communication and influencing skills
