We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Director across Sales & Design to lead and grow both the sales and design functions of a dynamic fashion business. This strategic leadership role focuses on building strong client partnerships, driving revenue, and aligning trend-led product development with market demands. The role also involves collaboration across the supply chain, working with internal teams and international partners.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buying Manager, Head of Buying, or Senior Sales professional ready to take the next step into a broader commercial leadership role. In return, you'll receive a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus, and a strong benefits package.

Experience working at Next, or at a direct supplier to Next is required for this role.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute a results-driven sales strategy to drive revenue growth and expand the client portfolio
  • Lead key account management and foster long-term relationships with major UK and European retail and brand clients
  • Oversee trend forecasting and seasonal direction to ensure commercially viable and innovative product ranges
  • Work closely with suppliers and production partners across the supply chain to ensure efficient and cost-effective development, production, and delivery
  • Collaborate closely with sourcing, production, and merchandising departments to ensure seamless execution from concept through to final delivery
  • Partner with offshore teams in Bangladesh to support development and sourcing functions

Person specification:

  • Previous experience in senior-level sales leadership or Buying role within the fashion industry
  • Previous experience working with NEXT required
  • Strong background in supplier relationships, product development, and understanding of the design-to-delivery process
  • Proven success in driving revenue, managing major accounts, and leading cross-functional teams
  • Solid knowledge of the UK and European fashion retail landscape
  • Strong commercial acumen with a creative, trend-sensitive mindset
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
