Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Designer with experience across woven multi-product. This role is to join a successful ladieswear supplier to large fashion retailers in the UK.
You'd need to be ahead of the trends with a commercial and creative eye that can cover stand out woven product. You will be confident in communicating trends and designs to Buyers. Ideally, you'd have a young to mid-market handwriting and be highly organised with strong woven fabric knowledge and experience across soft wovens and tailoring.
This role is to work across successful and high-volume retailers and supermarkets, desirable supplier experience. This role is based in my client's lovely office in Hertfordshire 5 days a week, they are also open to a 4-day week.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Researching, developing, and creating a market-leading wovens range, selecting key seasonal shapes and fabrics.
- Identifying and executing new product opportunities.
- Building relationships with overseas factories.
- Work closely and liaise with factories in Bangladesh.
- Ability to create bestselling ranges.
- Regular customer meetings and daily liaison with Buyers.
- Presenting ranges to the customer and guide the Buyers on market trends.
- Producing accurate and detailed CAD drawings and technical packs.
- Overseeing development of all sampling ensuring deadlines are met.
- Sourcing new fabrications, techniques and trim.
Person Specifications:
- Significant experience in designing womenswear, woven multiproduct- covering dresses, blouses, Tailoring and Outerwear
- Strong organisational skills, initiative, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Happy to work in the office 5 days a week / or could be a 4-day week
- Commercially savvy with excellent on-trend knowledge.
- Confident when attending customer meetings.
- Experience with Photoshop, Adobe, CAD.
