Are you an experienced Design Director with your pulse at the forefront of fast fashion ? If so we have a great opportunity to work for our client who are a large supplier of ladies ,men's and childrenswear covering licensed and fashion apparel supplying to leading retailers across the UK high street and well Europe .
This is a pivotal role in my clients London based operation where you will have full autonomy for a large design team leading with strategic and trend direction . In addition you will also be presenting at all major client meetings and working with existing clients to fully develop the ranges across all areas.
You will need to have strong managerial experience and already be at a senior position within your career , looking for a new and exciting opportunity .
Main Responsibilities will include :
- Oversee large team of designers across ladies, men's and childrenswear
- Ability to create bestselling ranges and be hands on with trends and giving direction and guidance to your team
- Involvement with key customer meetings on a regular basis.
- Liaise with overseas factories and travel to the factories for development, fabric & trim sourcing, shopping research trips and client meetings when required.
- Assist with driving and increasing sales with new and existing customers.
- Required to work in a fast paced environment, high volume design/development
- Develop trend-led collections tailored towards customers throughout the year
- Ensure the design team is aware of sales analysis on weekly basis
Person Specifications :
- Experience at Design Director/ Head off level essential for this role
- Previous supplier experience or retail background required
- Strong Jersey design background
- Knowledge of licencing
- Good understanding of garment costing/margins
- Demonstrate longevity in your design career
- Management of a small team required
- Excellent communication at all levels along with, time management and organisational skills
- A hands on approach with a strong eye for detail and current trends within the young fast fashion market
- Knowledge of working with Turkish suppliers preferred
