Job Description
I am seeking a talented Sales Manager to represent a wonderful sustainable childrenswear brand within Germany. This person will be building relationships within retail, wholesale and digital commerce sectors, you will have a strong background working within commercial selling, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets across various platforms
Main Responsibilities:
- Identify current and new business opportunities to increase in-store and ideally on-line brand awareness, brand visibility and in turn drive greater levels of sell-in and sell-through performances
- Accountable for all aspects of commercial leadership, line management, monitoring, reporting and performance management of the German Sales team
- Responsible for creating, planning, implementing and driving the overall business strategy and business performance in Germany
- Responsible for management of regional key accounts, including all planning, negotiations, account management, performance reviews, promotional planning and sell-in / sell-out of all products
- Develop close working relationships at all stakeholder levels with key customers within assigned region and designated key account portfolio through a commercial, consultative, business to business approach
- Develop relationships & partnerships and work collaboratively with all internal stakeholders, Operations, Marketing & Finance teams
- Ensure market appropriate plans in place for negotiation, planning and delivery of the successful execution of the sales, marketing, trade marketing, promotional and educational plans with each trade customer
- Collate consistent and accurate data and statistics working with the Finance and Operations contacts and the wider teams internally and externally to ensure efficient and accurate processes are in place
- Prepare reports, presentations, management information, reporting and correspondence on a regular basis.
Person Specification:
- Must have proven track record working in Retail, Wholesale & Digital Commerce sectors, ideally gained with a premium, organic brand and preferably with experience working with an apparel brand owner
- Strong relationships and network with retail and wholesale accounts. Introducing the brand into department stores and independent retailers.
- Must have multi-market experience, with extensive understanding of Germany and ideally the DACH region
- Must have proven strategic account management experience, specifically negotiating with senior stakeholders within key accounts and working closely with buyers and trading teams
- Ideally have experience leading and developing a commercial team in a winning culture.
- Must be data driven, highly numerate with strong analytical and data mining skills
- Must be enthusiastic, persuasive combined with a strong customer focus
- Consistently demonstrates drive, energy and resilience to work in an agile trading environment
- Good negotiation experience
- Must be organised, self-motivated, determined, outcome and results focused
- Must be fluent in German language
- Must be able to operate at both strategic and operational levels and have an appropriate attention to detail
- Demonstrates good networking, relationship building and influencing skills (internally and externally)
- Be based within Germany and be willing and able to undertake regular national and international travel
- Full driving license
