Job description
We are recruiting for a Business Head to be based in Bangladesh. This senior executive position will lead the expansion of a global textiles company's USA business from its Bangladesh hub.
Acting as the strategic link between US-based clients and local operations, the role requires expertise in fabric sourcing, apparel costing, order management, and international supply chain coordination. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with deep industry knowledge and proven leadership experience.
Main Responsibilities will include:
Develop and implement strategies to strengthen the company's presence in the US apparel market.
Build and maintain strong relationships with leading US fashion brands, retailers, and wholesalers.
Identify and secure high-quality fabrics from China, India, Pakistan, and other key markets.
Negotiate costs, lead times, and supplier terms to ensure competitive and reliable sourcing.
Monitor global textile trends and material price fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions.
Lead garment costing across woven and knit categories.
Break down costs including fabric, trims, labour, logistics, and overheads.
Act as the primary liaison between US clients, the US office, and Bangladesh operations.
Collaborate with merchandising, production, and logistics teams.
Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, sustainability, and ethical sourcing practices.
Identify and mitigate risks around sourcing delays, quality, and cost challenges.
Person Specification:
Ideally 15 years in apparel sourcing, merchandising, or supply chain management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Exposure to large-volume US retailers (e.g., Walmart, Costco, TJX Companies, Gap Inc.) and an understanding of their supply chain requirements.
Proven track record in fabric sourcing from China and other global markets; strong command of apparel costing methodologies.
Excellent communication, cross-cultural negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
