Job description
A well-known and long-established ladieswear supplier is seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join their growing team. Specialising in wovens and knitwear, this company supplies a wide range of leading UK and European retailers, delivering high-quality, trend-led collections across tops, bottoms, and dresses.
As the business continues to expand, this role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key part in securing new retail partnerships and driving growth within both the UK and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and on-boarding new retail and brand accounts, strengthening relationships with major retailers, and presenting the company's capabilities and seasonal ranges. Working closely with design, technical, and merchandising teams, you will deliver tailored proposals that meet client needs and reflect current market trends.
Your responsibilities will include developing strategic sales plans, achieving growth targets, increasing market share, and representing the company at client meetings, presentations, and industry trade shows. You will also monitor market activity to identify new opportunities and ensure the business stays ahead of trends and competitors.
Person Specifications
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development or sales within a ladieswear supplier or manufacturer, with strong knowledge of both woven and knitwear product areas. You will bring an established network of retail contacts, ideally across supermarkets and department store groups, and a solid understanding of commercial design and production.
You should be confident, results-driven, and able to independently generate and convert new business leads. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with internal teams to deliver results.
