Job description
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Brand Assurance Manager to lead the product approvals and brand compliance function across licensed apparel and consumer product categories. This role plays a critical operational leadership position, ensuring all products meet licensor requirements, retailer standards, regulatory obligations, and contractual commitments from concept through to final production approval.
The successful candidate will manage and develop a small team, oversee structured approval workflows, and ensure accuracy, governance, and on-time delivery across all submissions.
Based in Central London offices, working with a friendly and collaborative team with hybrid working available.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Manage and control the full product development and approval process from concept submission through to final production sign-off.
- Guarantee strict adherence to brand owner guidelines, league requirements, retailer standards, and contractual obligations across all product categories.
- Oversee and validate product concepts, artwork, samples, packaging, and pre-production submissions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality standards are met.
- Verify trademarks, logos, spelling, league information, labelling, and product specifications.
- Act as the primary operational contact for licensors, retailers, and manufacturing partners, coordinating submissions, tracking feedback cycles, and maintaining launch schedules.
- Proactively identify delays, compliance risks, or approval challenges and escalate in a structured and timely manner to protect delivery timelines.
- Manage, support, and develop a team of Approvals Coordinators.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience within product approvals, brand compliance, licensing, or product development (apparel preferred).
- Strong understanding of brand owner approval processes and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workflows and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leading or supervising a team, with the ability to drive accountability and performance.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and governance.
- Highly organised with excellent prioritisation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
