Job description
We are working with established fashion brand with a loyal customer following and a strong focus on thoughtful design, original print, and quality product.
They are looking for an experienced Assistant Buyer across womenswear to support the Buyer across the order and delivery process and to play an active role in range development.
This role is based in London and offering hybrid working.
Main responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Buyer with end to end management of the buying cycle, from range building through to order placement and delivery.
Partnering closely with Design and Merchandising to develop product, align to sales plans, and deliver department objectives.
Preparing and presenting product and trade updates to relevant stakeholders.
Reacting to current trade, identifying risks and opportunities.
Using competitor benchmarking, trend direction and historical performance to help shape a commercial, balanced range.
Managing approvals across lab dips, strike offs, trims and components.
Working with the technical team to support fit and quality.
Supporting resolution of quality or delivery issues with suppliers
Supporting supplier negotiations and contributing to cost effective outcomes and strong supplier relationships.
Managing elements of the critical path, ensuring deadlines are met and on time deliveries.
Person specifications:
Proven previous experience in buying across womenswear.
Confident working cross functionally with Merchandising, Design and Technical, contributing to product development and range direction.
Strong organisation and attention to detail, able to manage multiple deadlines.
Positive, proactive relationship builder with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Solutions focused, able to spot issues early and suggest improvements.
Self-motivated with a flexible approach and a desire to learn and develop.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting information to different audiences.
