Price Negotiator Production Merchandiser

We are recruiting for an experienced negotiator or production merchandiser to manage price negotiations across apparel & accessories for multiple brands. Obtaining competitive initial prices and working with suppliers to achieve optimal price points and required company margins. This role plays a critical part in following the production critical path, conducting cross-costing exercises, and tracking raw material prices to ensure commercial competitiveness and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and negotiate initial costings with suppliers to meet target price points and maintain company margins.

  • Review supplier quotations using cost breakdowns and market knowledge to ensure competitive pricing.

  • Align price negotiation processes with the critical path to avoid delays in production and delivery.

  • Benchmark and compare costs across suppliers, factories, and sourcing regions to secure best pricing.

  • Monitor raw material prices (e.g., yarn, cotton) and use insights to inform pricing strategies.

  • Maintain a cost comparison database to support ongoing and future negotiations.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (buying, design, production) to ensure commercial and creative alignment.

  • Maintain clear, ongoing communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders on pricing and margin impacts.


Person specifications:

  • Minimum 4-6 years' experience in apparel & accessories costing or production merchandising roles with strong negotiation focus.

  • Proven ability to negotiate supplier prices and maintain profitability in a competitive environment.

  • Strong understanding of garment construction, cost components, and global sourcing dynamics.

  • Experience working with critical paths and cross-functional teams.

  • Competence in Excel, cost tracking tools and a familiarity with SAP an advantage
