Price Negotiator Production Merchandiser
We are recruiting for an experienced negotiator or production merchandiser to manage price negotiations across apparel & accessories for multiple brands. Obtaining competitive initial prices and working with suppliers to achieve optimal price points and required company margins. This role plays a critical part in following the production critical path, conducting cross-costing exercises, and tracking raw material prices to ensure commercial competitiveness and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Obtain and negotiate initial costings with suppliers to meet target price points and maintain company margins.
Review supplier quotations using cost breakdowns and market knowledge to ensure competitive pricing.
Align price negotiation processes with the critical path to avoid delays in production and delivery.
Benchmark and compare costs across suppliers, factories, and sourcing regions to secure best pricing.
Monitor raw material prices (e.g., yarn, cotton) and use insights to inform pricing strategies.
Maintain a cost comparison database to support ongoing and future negotiations.
Collaborate with internal teams (buying, design, production) to ensure commercial and creative alignment.
Maintain clear, ongoing communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders on pricing and margin impacts.
Person specifications:
Minimum 4-6 years' experience in apparel & accessories costing or production merchandising roles with strong negotiation focus.
Proven ability to negotiate supplier prices and maintain profitability in a competitive environment.
Strong understanding of garment construction, cost components, and global sourcing dynamics.
Experience working with critical paths and cross-functional teams.
Competence in Excel, cost tracking tools and a familiarity with SAP an advantage
