An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client, one of the most famous Luxury Designer Footwear Brands who thrive on talent and passion. They are looking for a Ladies Footwear Designer to work with the team based in their Head Office in Central London. The ideal candidate for this role will have some International experience working for a luxury or premium brand who have strong hand drawing skills as well as CAD including embroidery. This role will also provide you with the opportunity to travel to Italy.

Main Responsibilities will include:

• Work with the Design team through the entire process of collection making including collection build out
• Undertake sketching of all styles and provide technical drawings for styles and variations when required
• Image research and mood boards
• Contribute to the conceptual development of innovative and directional product lines
• Work on the detailing of materials and colour including embroidery
• Work on the collection development fittings and pre-production fittings in conjunction with product development
• To participate in the preparation of the collection presentation
• Support the set-up of the Technical Sheets / documentation per collection
• Work with suppliers and factories via written and personal visits when requested
• Manage selected supplier communications between London / product development office
• Attend design meetings, merchandising meetings and other relevant meetings, as

Person Specification:

• Extensive shoe design experience and experience of working with a luxury label or reputable fashion brand with experience of construction
• Footwear Fashion/Design Degree or equivalent work experience, ideally in an international organisation
• Systems knowledge; CAD, Photoshop
• European (preferably Italian) factory and supplier experience
• Experience of working to a design/product development calendar
• Extensive experience of leather goods and shoe materials
• Expert technical skill and knowledge of factory capability and supplier base
• Strong knowledge of the fashion and lifestyle marketplace and able to identify and spot industry trends
• Italian language skills would be advantageous
• Flawless personal style and taste to represent the brand appropriately
• Flexible in approach in terms of work and hours
• Flexible approach, able to handle additional category requests based on business needs
• Openness and enthusiasm to learn
• Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to interact with all levels of resources - internal and external - and build relationships
• Excellent organisational, time management and presentation skills
