Fabric Buyer/Developer Luxury women's wear lifestyle brand
Our client is a well- known established fashion lifestyle brand that has a presence in the market with a unique product offering. They are actively looking to recruit an experienced Fabric Buyer/ developer to work closely with the Creative Director. You will need to have a strong luxury background ideally with several years' experience as a Fabric Buyer working for an established luxury fashion house/ brand
Main responsibilities
- Attend fabric fairs to source fabrics and suppliers
- Identify requirements for each season's collection
- Provide correct options to cover raw materials required each season
- Work with fabric mills to purchase & develop new fabrics.
- Monitor quality of fabric from development through to production
- Keep a clear record and check stock levels of all owned fabric/ raw materials
- Place PO and negotiate prices with vendors
- Visit mills to resolve any production issues
- Work closely with the Creative Director on the development and sourcing of fabrics
Person requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Design
- Experience essential working within the luxury fashion market across all fabrics
- Strong technical knowledge of the print processes, woven construction, fabric finishes and understanding colour
- First class written and verbal communication at all levels
- Key attention to detail
- Strong IT skills CAD, Excel, MS Word
- International travel
- Maintain and develop existing contacts and relationships with fabric suppliers and mills at luxury level essential
