Job Description

A fabulous opportunity has arisen with my client who are an established brand with a distinctive style . This role would suit a senior designer looking for their next step or an existing design manger looking for a new challenge in a forward-thinking creative organisation. As Design Manager you would be reporting to the Head of Women swear and have a small team under you so some managerial experience would be beneficial in this role .My client is looking for a unique individual who is motivated by creative thinking and big ideas to drive the development of the woven division. Previous experience working for a brand or retailer is essential for this role.

Main responsibilities will include

  • Work closely with the team to create successful, fashion forward, innovative collections & being aware of current trends.

  • Attend exhibitions / store events / comp shop looking for new opportunities and ideas to keep direction fresh.

  • Manage styles from concept to production stage.

  • Liaise with menswear and accessory divisions to ensure brand DNA has continuity throughout design.

  • Encourage team to explore design 3 dimensionally, draping on the stand and mocking up garments, to create and refine designs

  • Work closely with Head of Womens Wear to interpret, follow and execute the design direction.

  • Manage the day-to-day task assignment and work flow for the greater design Team.

  • Communicate Seasonal Inspiration and Design Direction to the greater Design Team

  • Lead the designers in creating seasonal fabric direction boards.

  • Ensure WW Design is adhering to our 'Critical Path' production calendar.


Person Specification

  • Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently but also as part of a team.

  • Strong background working across womenswear woven design is essential for this role

  • Previous experience working for a brand or retailer premium or above level is required for this role

  • Senior designer or design manager level

  • Ability to travel when needed.

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of draping and fabric sourcing knowledge.

  • Energetic, enthusiastic with new ideas and passion coupled with creative flair
