Job Description
Our client is an industry leading fashion supplier delivering to some of the UK's key High Street retailers and due to continued success, they are looking to recruit a Design Assistant across Knitwear. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some previous placement / industry experience, with good technical knowledge and trained in Shima Software.
This role will be working with a lovely team of established Designers based in vibrant Manchester offices with hybrid working and flexible hours.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Regular comparative shop reports, trend research, mood boards and inspiration across knitwear.
- Researching key trends & colours, helping to create colour palettes & trend books.
- Using Shima daily to help design team fulfil the customers' requirements.
- Creating detailed clear CADs & tech packs to send to overseas factories.
- Keeping on track of all samples.
- Preparing showroom for customer meetings.
Person Specification:
- Design degree specialising in knitwear.
- Has experience using Adobe Illustrator and Shima (Shima 3D preferred).
- Basic understanding of yarns and gauges.
- Enthusiastic and keen to learn with excellent communication skills.
- Must be organised and able to prioritise efficiently.
- Friendly, positive team player who is eager to progress within the fashion industry.
