Job Description
We are working with a fashion forward trend lead apparel and lifestyle brand. Based in LA, due to exponential growth, they are looking to expand their team, so are seeking dynamic Buyers and Senior Buyers across womenswear or menswear to help continue to grow and excel in the fashion industry.
This role requires a keen eye for trends, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the fashion market. Reporting into the Category Director you will create best-selling ranges based on emerging trends. You will work closely with Designers, suppliers and merchandisers to ensure that our product offerings are both fashionable and profitable.
This role requires someone with an American or Australian passport.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Identify and analyse fashion trends to forecast future buying needs.
- Deliver fashion forward ranges that aligns with the company's brand and target market.
- Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure you have a balanced range based, having analysed sales in-season and post-season to identify strength and weaknesses.
- Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis across all social media platforms to stay informed about industry trends and pricing strategies.
- Negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery terms with suppliers to secure the best deals and achieve financial targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, designers, and wholesalers.
- Attend fashion shows, trade fairs, and supplier meetings to stay current with the latest fashion trends and new products.
- Participate in open-to-buy (OTB) meetings with Merchandisers to ensure the department achieves financial targets for sales and profitability.
Person Specification:
- 5 - 7+ years of experience in Buying for apparel, ideally within an eCommerce fashion brand.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and the market.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with suppliers across quality, costs, and delivery dates.
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion or equivalent work experience.
