We're looking for an enthusiastic Garment Technologist to join a growing wholesale clothing business.
Based in Manchester, you will be managing fits and technical development for menswear and boyswear apparel and footwear. In this role you'll be part of a supportive team and work collaboratively with Merchandising, Design & Product Development teams. The aim is to deliver well-fitting, commercial product on time and to specification.
Main responsibilities will include:
Managing fit and technical development for menswear and boyswear apparel and footwear.
Creating clear development specifications from original samples or CADs at the start of each season.
Measuring samples at 1st fit, pre-production and production stages; leading in-house fit sessions.
Issuing comprehensive fit comments and updated specs to factories and liaising with them daily.
Prioritising workload to protect critical paths and ensure shipment dates are met.
Owning pattern solutions and providing factories with pragmatic, quality-led technical advice.
Checking and approving care label layouts, reviewing test reports, and conducting in-house wash tests where required.
Making commercial decisions on bulk quality issues to balance standards, timing, and cost.
Person specification:
Previous experience in a similar Garment Technology role is essential, ideally with multi-category exposure and direct factory liaison.
Strong administration skills with excellent attention to detail; accurate and methodical.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Highly organised, able to prioritise and manage multiple styles and deadlines.
Collaborative team player with clear communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
