Job Description
A rare opportunity has become available for someone with Garment Technology and Design experience within childrenswear. You will be working with baby and childrenswear up to teens across multiproduct. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly reputable business who supply several fashion retailers, supermarkets, and specialist childrenswear stores. This role offers hybrid working and flexibility as you will be required to attend fit sessions on a regular basis at client's head offices.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Attending regular client fit sessions
- Clear understanding on maintaining fit consistency.
- Ensure that all garments conform to the latest UK Health and Safety legislation and perform to all standards to meet retailers guidelines
- Identify new developments that require technical support
- Risk assess to identify high risk product for production
- Critical Path: Ensure that all seals process/tests are achieved at each stage to critical path dates
- Liaise with factories overseas in Sri Lanka and China
- Work with design team designing on trend childrenswear designs, developing products to the highest standard
- Being a key point of contact throughout the development of the product, recording and reporting any actionable results
- Ensure the designs created are engineered within cost structure and make up capabilities
- Fabric and garment testing and quality control
Person specifications:
- Confident to attend and take fit sessions with clients
- Garment technology and Design background essential
- Solid understanding of children's and or baby essential across girls and boys wear
- Knowledge of fabric sourcing and the ability to use this to its full potential
- A strong understanding of the current high street, trends and the ability to look forward and anticipate new trends
- Must have good CAD and illustration skills
- Experience of presenting ideas through design boards
- Will have a vast knowledge of fabric/garment testing specifications and results analysis
- Able to work independently and without supervision based on prior knowledge and experience
- Attention to detail and deadline management
