Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity as a Quality Controller for a well-established supplier that is part of a major, global corporation. They are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with experience within the kitchenware or indoor furniture industry to join their team based in Central London.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that all product planning is carried out to provide advice and solutions on technical issues, including product safety, construction of products/materials, the features and limitations of products and materials
  • Follow production and quality problems and investigate reasons for product rejection.
  • Responsibility for the management of relationship with customer QC team
  • Ensuring compliant paperwork and testing is provided in a timely manner
  • Work with our overseas offices to advise on testing standard requirements and ensure packaging is legally compliant
  • Provide advice on complex product items to suppliers, ensure materials are of acceptable quality and provide advice on feasibility of National / European standards and customer's requirements and suitability for production
  • Anticipate problems that may arise
  • Provide reporting documentation on all areas for the Sales Manager and work with the merchandiser to ensure critical path is maintained
  • Provide technical support to internal teams, suppliers and customers to ensure product quality is followed and maintained to the necessary standard
  • Carry out sample inspections against product specifications to ensure they meet the National / European standards and customers' quality standards

Person requirements:

  • Previous experience within a similar Quality Control position within the kitchenware or indoor furniture industry, supplying to the UK market
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Organised and accurate with a keen eye for detail
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
