Job Description

Our client, a highly successful jewellery brand, has an exciting new vacancy for an experienced Jewellery Product Developer to work as part of the Design team in their beautiful London head office.

To be a successful candidate for this position as a Jewellery Product Developer, you must have strong communication skills, an excellent understanding of the industry and design processes, with experience in dealing with suppliers and factories in the Far East and Italy.
 

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting to the Senior Designer and working closely with the team, ensuring designs are created to expected standards, in line with brand guideline and commercially sound
  • Continuous product development of a large and diverse number of items
  • Sourcing all products for the design and production of all jewellery collections and accessories
  • Negotiations with manufacturers/suppliers in the Far East and Europe
  • Monitor industry trends and evaluate competitors
  • Working with the Design team to ensure products are designed cost effectively
  • Collaborate and knowledge share product knowledge with the Sales and QA team
  • Provide guidance on products to the Retail teams
  • Work with the Managing Director on product selection
  • Assist the Design team in the launch of collections
  • Assist with the costing of products as required


Personal requirements:

  • Several years' experience within the jewellery sector in London
  • Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Commercially focused and delivering to budget and targets
  • Advanced MS Excel
  • Ensure requests and deliveries are met through the critical path
  • In-depth understanding of jewellery manufacturing in the Far East
  • Methodical approach and seeing projects through to completion
  • Excellent command of written and oral English
  • Strong team player who is accustomed to working in a cross-cultural environment
  • Tenacious, with a willingness to go beyond the call of duty
