Job Description

We are currently recruiting an exciting new role for a jersey wear Designer with a strong emphasis on Graphic and Shape FOR LICENSED AND NON LICENSED Girlswear to join a leading supplier to the UK high street fashion retailers.

Working within a team you will design and assist with the constant development and co-ordination of new product ranges, to satisfy market key trends and customer needs, offering innovation and fresh approaches to design. Must be confident and have a full understanding of A.O.P and Placement print

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Design jersey ranges of girls wear product for retailers, ensuring that relevant deadlines are met
  • Have a strong handwriting on shape and fashion design
  • Be aware of current trends and produce mood/direction boards
  • Prepare sample requests and artwork for putting sampling into work with our factories
  • Work closely with sales team, attending meetings at retail and presenting CADs/samples to buyers
  • Covering both graphic design, garment design and licensed
  • Designing to customer/sales brief
  • Presenting the full range to buyers
  • Working with creative flair whilst understanding prices restraints

Person requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of garment construction essential
  • Must be confident in graphics, A.O.P and placement print
  • Confident in presenting a full range to buyers and demonstrate you have previously done this
  • Must have handwriting similar to that of Zara, River Island and Asos
  • Experience designing Licensed and non-licensed girlswear
  • Sound knowledge of fabrics/printing methods and techniques essential
  • Good communication skills essential - the role involves liaising with other departments within the company for example: merchandising and QA & overseas factories
  • Strong technical CAD skills, Proficient on Mac in Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Foreign travel opportunities, working with factory sample units overseas & directional comp shopping
  • Ability to think outside the box and design commercial, creative multiproduct girls jerseywear
  • Good team player
