Experienced Garment Technologist required for young women's fashion supplier based in North London. Working on young women's fashion accounts such as, our client is looking for someone who has worked on similar accounts on fashion woven dresses

Job Description
An established womenswear supplier to leading high street retailers requires experienced Garment Technologist to join in-house technical team. Successful candidate will work as part of a small team to develop high quality fashion garments from first fit through sealing process to final production.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Five years plus of relevant experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Work well as part of a team and to the agreed critical paths
  • Experience with dresses and soft separates - and woven fabrics
  • Good knowledge of garment fit, construction and grading
  • Eye for detail and quality
  • Manage costs during development, fit and sealing stages
  • Computer literate - including Microsoft Office.



Personal requirements:

  • Develop garments with designers and customers from first fit to final sealer
  • Work with in-house sample room team
  • Set up work books for each development sample to be fitted
  • Build good working relationships with customers and lead fit sessions, updating work books as necessary
  • Recognise and resolve potential production quality risks
  • Fully understand customer fit notes and communicate/action with internal team
  • Measure samples to create, amend and update fully graded specs using customer workbooks
  • Prepare production packs for factory
  • Liaise with factories during pre-production sampling and manufacturing
  • Work alongside factories to ensure products meet required quality standards
