Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-leading premium retailer as a Director of Human Resources and become an ambassador of a global contemporary brand which has gone through continuous growth over the last three decades.

The role is based in fabulous head offices in Baltimore, USA, and the successful candidate will be collaborating with a passionate and dynamic team becoming a trusted advisor and business partner to the General Manager, US, the Senior US Leadership team, the VP of Retail and the Regional Managers. This is a key role within the HR functions and our client is looking to appoint someone with solid experience of supporting retail stores as well as the corporate section of the business.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Recommending, developing and implementing human resources strategies and activities to support the success of the organisation, its leaders and employees
  • Supporting the country corporate offices by providing leadership, advice and counsel to management
  • Being responsible for day-to-day workforce relations
  • Conducting investigations and site assessments that ensure objective evaluation and resolution of issues
  • Providing managers with consultation on sensitive or complex employee relation issues
  • Acting as a liaison to ensure the HR frameworks are embedded in the retail strategy
  • Leading a team of HR generalists to provide business partnering support to the own and operated stores
  • Overseeing and leveraging all HR procedures, policies and practices to maintain a positive and high-performing workplace
  • Implementing and overseeing the Performance Management process and other talent management processes

Person requirements:

  • Solid experience in Human Resources covering Human Leadership and Management roles
  • Experience in supporting the retail stores is a mandatory requirement to be considered for this role
  • Management of restructures, realignments within a complex organisation
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, organisational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment law
  • Extensive knowledge of organisational development, employee relations, litigation management and avoidance
  • Sound knowledge of HR employment related laws/practices
  • Strong ability to coach senior managers
  • Strong team development, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
