Job description
We are recruiting for a leading fashion supplier who are looking for a Senior Softs Designer across womenswear to join the team.
Based in London, this is a customer-facing role for a commercially driven designer with a feminine, trend led handwriting, a strong understanding of prints, and the confidence to present ideas clearly and persuasively to key accounts.
You will play a central role in delivering trend-right, highly wearable soft woven ranges that meet customer needs and trading requirements.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop commercially focused soft woven ranges that align with customer briefs, target price points.
- Present ranges, concepts and design updates to customers with confidence, tailoring the message to different stakeholders.
- Translate trends into feminine, fashionable product with a strong print focus, ensuring designs remain highly commercial and scalable for bulk.
- Maintain strong commercial awareness across bestsellers, competitor activity and customer performance to drive relevant design decisions.
- Partner closely with internal teams to ensure designs are delivered on time and to brief, supporting the full product lifecycle.
- Where applicable, contribute to short lead development, ensuring speed to market without compromising aesthetic or quality.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience designing soft wovens within a supplier or retail environment, with strong commercial awareness and a clear understanding of customer needs.
- Confident and credible presenting to customers, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships.
- A feminine, fashionable aesthetic with a good knowledge of prints and the ability to interpret trends into commercially viable product.
- Neat, feminine and visually appealing handwriting, with strong attention to detail in presentation work.
- Organised, proactive and comfortable working at pace across multiple accounts and seasons.
- Knowledge of short lead production is advantageous.
- Must be able to work 5 days per week in the office.
