Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Raw Material Quality & Compliance Lead to join a leading luxury fashion house working across RTW. This role is pivotal in safeguarding raw material excellence and regulatory compliance across the entire production lifecycle.

The position plays a critical role in advancing the brand's sustainability commitments and ethical standards, ensuring full alignment with global regulatory requirements while upholding uncompromising luxury quality expectations.

Based in the London office 5 days a week.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Approve all bulk raw materials against master standards, ensuring excellence in hand feel, appearance, structure, and shade consistency

  • Define and enforce luxury acceptance thresholds, making final decisions on approvals and rejections

  • Govern master standards, ensuring traceability and consistency from development through to production

  • Oversee testing and inspection processes, translating quality reports into clear material and supplier decisions

  • Lead supplier negotiations on quality issues, managing claims, corrective actions, and performance improvement

  • Ensure compliance with global chemical and physical regulations (including REACH and RSLs) and interpret lab test results

  • Own care labelling accuracy and compliance, ensuring alignment with product performance and regulatory requirements

  • Drive sustainability initiatives by increasing the use of certified and lower-impact materials and improving traceability

  • Act as the key technical partner across suppliers and internal teams, identifying risks and driving continuous improvement

Person Specification:

  • Extensive experience in a similar raw materials quality and compliance role in a high-quality or luxury environment

  • Degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field

  • Advanced knowledge of textile construction, dyeing, finishing, and global testing standards

  • Proven experience in care labelling, certification systems, and supplier negotiation

  • Strong sensory evaluation skills and a refined understanding of luxury material standards

  • Clear technical authority with structured, detail-oriented, and solution-driven approach
