The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Freelance Men's Knitwear Designer to join the team from August through to the end of the year. Initially, the role will be 2-3 days per week dependant on work load and customer needs .
You will be designing across multiple customer accounts, creating commercial knitwear ranges that reflect the latest trends while meeting each customer's individual handwriting.
Main Duties & Responsibilities.

  • Research and interpret seasonal trends, colours, yarns and silhouettes.

  • Produce detailed CADs and technical design packs.

  • Work closely with the sales and product development teams to respond to customer briefs.

  • Develop commercially focused product suitable for high-volume retailers.

  • Manage multiple accounts and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience as a Mens Knitwear Designer working for a supplier or fashion retailer.

  • Experience designing for UK high street retailers is essential.

  • Experience designing for supermarkets would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • Strong commercial eye with an excellent understanding of current knitwear trends.

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

  • Able to work independently and manage a varied workload.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
