A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Manager looking for a new and exciting challenge in their career. My client is a leading supplier covering multi product, women's, men's and childrenswear. With customers in Europe, the US and Canada. This role is based in their HQ in Hong Kong overseeing a large design team, in addition to being responsible for a smaller design/technical office in the UK .
My client is looking for an experienced commercial fashion forward passionate Design Manager to head up their team of designers and drive the business forward on key design and strategy

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, Mentor and inspire existing design team
  • Required to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Responsible for recruitment of design staff
  • Develop trend-led collections tailored towards suppliers' customers throughout the year
  • Responsible for sourcing and developing fabrics and trims
  • Overseas travel to the factories for development, fabric & trim sourcing, shopping research trips and client meetings



Person specification:

  • Previous experience within a senior Design management role across multi product
  • Strong man management skills and a proven track record developing and leading teams essential
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of jersey, wove n and Knitted fabrics and yarns or of wash techniques for bottoms, especially denim
  • Good understanding of garment costing
  • Experience designing major UK/European/US retail groups
  • Demonstrate longevity in your design career
  • Team management of both product and designers is experience required
  • Excellent communication at all levels along with time management and organisational skills are essential
