Job Description
My client is a leading online fashion e-tailer delivering the latest trends who are looking for a menswear footwear designer predominately casualwear to incorporate trainers a small amount of the range is formal shoes. You should have a strong eye for interpreting young hi fashion trends to satisfy market key trends and customer needs, offering innovation and fresh approaches to design.
This role would suit an experienced Junior Designer wanting to progress to Designer level, or an established Mid-Level Designer wanting to continue their development to eventually progress to Senior Designer level this role will be reporting into the Head of Menswear and will work alongside a team however you will have sole responsibility for all footwear . This is an exciting role with a thriving growing company.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Design full menswear footwear range 80% casual 20 % formal - Fashion + Core - present to Head of Menswear
- Create Design, Mood, Colour and Trend Boards and regular competitor research
- To produce detailed/accurate technical packs
- Travel overseas to factories and suppliers in China and India (approx.. 5 times per year) - Sourcing, Developments, PD/Buying/Merch meetings
- Research trips (Europe, Asia + Far East)
- Close liaison with the Product Development team
Person Specifications:
- Previous experience designing men's casual footwear essential
- Good understanding of fabrics sourcing + development
- Strong technical footwear experience
- Knowledge of working with factories in China and India
- Possess excellent communication skills at all levels
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Able to travel to travel overseas several times a year
- Self-motivated
- Excellent attention to detail
