Job Description
A successful trend led, yet stylish and edgy performance sports/athleisure brand covering clothing and accessories for men and women are expanding rapidly and are looking for an experienced womenswear designer with relevant product background to join their team and spearhead their design expansion to the next successful phase for this brand.
They are looking for someone to take manage the end to end process and grow their team, This role is ideal for someone on the pulse of the latest fashion, fitness and lifestyle trends looking to further their career. Based in their Head office In North London .
Person Requirements
- Several years' experience designing womenswear within the sports performance/ athleisure market
- Carry out research to stay ahead of trends in colour, pattern and shape.
- Inspire and self-motivate bring newness with key ideas relevant to the brand to ensure department is in line with key competitors
- Confidently build the range and demonstrate good working relationships with
- Have a knowledge of fast paced/ trend lead work place, to be quick reacting you will be part of ensuring key product/ trend is landed accordingly
- Must continue to push and develop yourself within the role, help lead by example to less experienced members of the team
- Contributing to the management of the Team, prioritising workload to ensure tasks are completed on time
Person Requirements
Previous design experience for a brand, supplier or retailer within womens performance sportswear/ athleisure essential
- PC / Mac literate - Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, Word, Adobe Suite
- Factory ready tech pack creations (including CAD technical skills)
- Understanding of commercial garment / product construction methods
- Understanding of how to translate fashion trends into commercial product opportunities
- Good interpersonal / communication skills
- Ability to motivate and develop team
- Experience dealing with Far East factories
- Organisational skills
- Ability to initiate, build and maintain great relationships with all internal and external partners
