A fantastic new opportunity has become available for a commercial Assistant Womenswear Designer to join a leading UK supplier to major high street retailers to work on several of their key accounts. They are seeking an enthusiastic, commercial designer to support across soft wovens.
This role will be working with a lovely team of established designers and offers great career progression.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
- Research fashion trends, producing trend boards, catwalks, and sketches.
- Design seasonal capsule collections along with key shapes, colour palettes, and fabric direction.
- Source & order fabric and follow up to ensure they arrive in a timely manner.
- Research and source new design ideas & fabrics/trims day to day.
- Design and develop commercial and fashion-forward products for range and clients.
- Attend regular design meetings with the Sales Manager and customers when required.
Personal Specification:
- Design degree preferable with some previous experience designing across womenswear wovens.
- Strong organisational skills and able to work under pressure.
- Commercially savvy with excellent on-trend knowledge.
- Fully computer literate in Photoshop and Illustrator
- A keen eye for detail.
- Have an interest in fashion and keep up to date with fashion trends
